Rachel Auburn: "Screwdriver" (Tidy Trax) Hear it @ Tidy Trax
Although this has been in my top ten I've only just got hold of it after many weeks of waiting. And tracking it down. Tidy Trax have assured me that you can get it in any HMV in the UK. Now, this tune is for some reason absolutely amazing!!!!! I don't know why but it just makes you move and its just pure stomp.
It's out on an EP from Tidy trax and I suppose I'd better mention the other (stunning) girls. Lisa Lashes, Lisa Pin-up and Anne Savage all have a tune on this and they are all great full on nu-energy/hard house pieces.
There is also a remix of Madonna's "Like a Prayer" (I think) out somewhere. Don't worry I'm actively looking for it and will review it ASAP. No doubt it will be great.
Steve Morley: "Reincarnations" (NEO)
Wow this is good. Pure hard driving bassline with an all clashing and banging euro sound to it. This is going to be massive. I've never heard of this guy before but the label is brilliant and is getting a reputation. This is one that might just send shivers up your spine !!! get you dancing anyway.
ATB: "Don't Stop" Signum remix (Kontor Records)
Another already classic club track. Already being remixed!!!!! Most of the mixes on this are rather poor but the Signum mix is almost better then the original. Pumping without loosing the original's melody and quite uplifting at the same time.
Art of Trance: "Madagascar" (Transk)
Also out on Platipus, but I was too late to get it. So it's on another label. Still it has the Ferry Corsten remix which is the best and also a Cygnus X mix. This is pretty massive at the moment and confirms the growing trend towards Euro House.
Tilt: "Children" Tilt's courtyard mix (Deconstruction Promo)
Another re-working of a great classic. I must admit it must have been quite a task to remix the original as well as this has been done. This is much more "Cream-like" and a lot more Euro sounding with great swirling breakdowns and more pounding bass.
Tilt: "Invisible" Lost tribe vocal mix (Hooj Choons)
This is an awesome track which I think is a re-work of "Tilt's" Rendezvous (Perfecto), originally remixed by Paul Van Dyk about 2 years ago now. It's always been a favourite of mine and play it out almost every set.
Whoop Collestion:2 Album Sampler (Whoop)
This is a track you would most definitely hear Sasha play. Pretty progressive and dark trance not too melodic but still a great pounding tune.
DJ Taucher: "Child of the universe" (Addictive)
"Mr Euro Trance" is back with a lovely piece. Its got a massive breakdown with some little girl chatting about the universe followed by some tribal chanting and then, BOOM of it goes again a la Euro. The other side is called "Bizarre" and it is a bit with some French bloke going on in the breakdown.
Zenith: "Flip de Trax" (ARD DJ Promo)
Perhaps I am psychic. I bought the original of this ages ago and I new it was going to be massive. The original is a bit too "acid" but this has a "swan remix" which is a bit milder but looses a bit of emphasis on the melody of the track.
Nalin Inc: "Planet Violet 2nd Edition" (Kosmos Music)
This is pretty old now but occasionally you look back though your box and think " Shit have not played that in a while". It’s a great soft progressive track from Andy Nalin (Met her at the Love Parade). This is the track they used for the Revlon advert a few months back if you can remember. Well its well limited and you can't get it anymore. His copy is not even mine !!!!! Absolutely storming.
Paul Van Dyk: "For an Angel" (Deviant)
By no means is this at the bottom of this week's chart EVER!!! It's just a great piece of music. In fact one of the best written I have ever heard. It took me 2 months to find out what it was when I first heard it at "Creamfields" last year. And it did not come out till the end of last August. I don't want to say much about this because we all know how great it is.
All tracks available now. See my links to order them online.
